**Given:**

The ratio of two numbers is 3 : 4 and the sum of these two numbers is 420

**Calculation:**

The ratio of two numbers is 3 : 4

Let, those two numbers are 3k and 4k where ‘k’ is a constant

According to the given condition,

3k + 4k = 420

⇒ 7k = 420

⇒ k = 60

Here it is clear that 4k is greater than 3k

∴ the greater number is 4 × 60

⇒ 240

**∴**** The required greater number is 240**
